Water baptism is an outward expression of an inward change. Baptism does not make you a believer; it shows that you already are one! Baptism does not ‘save’ you; only your faith in Christ does that. After you have committed your life to Christ, your next step in your spiritual journey is obedience through water baptism. If you have not taken this step, we encourage you to make a public declaration of your faith by getting water baptized. We’d love to celebrate this moment with you!
Q: What is the meaning of baptism?
Baptism illustrates Christ’s burial and resurrection. [Colossians 2:12]
Q: Who should be baptized?
Every person who believes in Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. [Acts 2:41 | Acts 8:12]
Q: Why should I be baptized?
To signify that you have received new life through Christ. [Romans 6:4]
To follow the example set by Christ. [Mark 1:9]
Christ calls us to be baptized. [Matthew 28:19]
Q: How are we to be baptized?
As per the example of Jesus – by being immersed in water. The word “baptize” comes from the Greek word “baptizo” which means “to immerse or dip under water.” [Matthew 3:16]
Every baptism in the Bible was by immersion under water. The book of Acts shows us that this was the norm for every believer. [Acts 8:38-39]
Q: When should I be baptized?
As soon as possible after you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Believers in the New Testament were baptized the same day. As soon as a person decides to believe in Christ, he can be, and is encouraged to be baptized. [Acts 2:41 | Acts 8:35-39]
Q: What if I have already been baptized?
If you have been water baptized, your next step is to enter into community with other believers. Groups are the next step in the HighRidge Spiritual Growth Track.
