FAQ

WHAT HAPPENS AT A SMALL GROUP MEETING?

A small group looks like friends eating at a restaurant, teams playing softball, or people studying a Christian book or the bible. In its basic form, a small group is a community of people engaged in biblical fellowship and committed to grow spiritually. At a small group, you can expect to connect with others either through fellowship or a common activity, participate in life-giving conversation and pray for one another.

HOW OFTEN DOES A SMALL GROUP MEET?

Our small groups meet for three semesters a year—winter/spring, summer and fall. During the semester, most groups meet once a week or every other week. Small groups are meant to bring members into biblical community so even if you can’t attend every meeting, there is still great value in joining a group.

HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL SMALL GROUP STAY TOGETHER?

Most small groups meet for a semester. This way, new people can join groups easily and regularly. Also, the semester format allows you to try multiple groups each year. As relationships form, some groups choose to stay together for consecutive semesters, but new members are always welcome.

IS KIDS MINISTRY AVAILABLE?

Kids Ministry varies from group to group. When you search our directory for a group, the group profile will indicate if Kids Ministry is available. Once you have found a group, please fill out the registration form to register yourself and your children for Kids Ministry. Kids Ministry at the church will only be available for those parents meeting at a small group.

WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE FIRST GROUP I TRY?

Don’t give up! Not every group will be a good fit. We encourage you to select a few groups that would be a good fit and contact the leaders to find out more about the group and then try out a few before committing.  We want to see you connected in the group tailor made for you!

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR A GROUP?

The best method would be to contact the group leader first, introduce yourself and find out more about the group. Once you have narrowed down a group(s) that you would like to try, fill out the registration form and contact the group leader to let them know you will be attending.

WHEN DO I SIGN UP FOR A GROUP?

Check the main Groups page for when the directory will go live. Once it goes live you will be able to register for a group. You will need to register for a group at the beginning of each semester.
