As your Group is getting started, go around the Group and have everyone report a win that has happened since the previous meeting. A win is anything good that God has done in your life.

Galatians 4:6-7
"And because we are His children, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, "Abba, Father." Now you are no longer a slave but God's own child. And since you are His child, God has made you His heir."

Psalm 139:13-14
"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous - how well I know it."

Matthew 3:16-17
"After His baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens opened and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and setting on Him. And a voice from Heaven said, 'This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy'"

Matthew 4:1-4
"Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. For forty days and forty nights He fasted and became very hungry. During that time the devil came and said to Him, 'If you are the Son of God, tell these stories to become loaves of bread.' But Jesus told him, 'No! The scriptures say, 'People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

What ways do you try to counterfeit your identity instead of letting your identity be in Christ alone?

Is it through your position? Friendships or family? Natural gifting? Physical Condition? Success or money? The things you do in ministry?

When you do not believe what God's Word says about you, that plants a seedbed of demonic activity in your life. The only place to walk is in the truth of God's Word.

If anyone in your group is being called to lead a small group, suggest that they start praying about how they can seize the opportunity to lead the people around them. Encourage them not to wait until the last minute and ask them if they want to become your “assistant small group leader” so they can start taking steps in that direction.

Midway through this week, send a follow-up email/text message to your group with some or all of the following:

  • "How have you heard God speak today?"
  • A note of encouragement

Follow up on any specific prayer requests mentioned during your Group meeting.
