What is the meaning of baptism?

How are we to be baptized?
As per the example of Jesus – by being immersed in water. The word “baptize” comes from the Greek word “baptizo” which means “to immerse or dip underwater.” [Matthew 3:16]
Every baptism in the Bible was by immersion underwater. The book of Acts shows us that this was the standard for every believer. [Acts 8:38-39]
When should I be baptized?
As soon as possible after you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Believers in the New Testament were baptized the same day. As soon as you have decided to believe in Christ, you can be and are encouraged to be baptized. [Acts 2:41 | Acts 8:35-39]
What if I've already been baptized?
If you have been water baptized, your next step is to enter into community with other believers. Joining a group is the next step in your spiritual journey.
